Last Updated: July 11, 2026

1. Information We Collect

WorkHorse Enterprise may collect account registration details, profile information, employer and freelancer details, job posts, proposals, bids, contracts, messages, notifications, reviews, payment records, escrow records, uploaded files, support requests, device information, and platform activity logs.

2. Account and Profile Data

  • Name, email address, phone number, role, username, and account status.
  • Employer company details, freelancer skills, resume, avatar, address, and professional profile data.
  • Login records, registration approval status, verification information, and security preferences.

3. Marketplace Activity

We process job posts, bids, proposals, contracts, escrow activities, dispute records, project deliverables, messages, reviews, ratings, and notifications to operate the marketplace and provide user-facing services.

4. Payment and Escrow Information

WorkHorse may store payment records, wallet balances, transaction references, provider names, escrow status, refund status, withdrawal requests, webhook logs, and receipts. Sensitive card or payment account details are handled by third-party payment providers such as Stripe, PayPal, M-Pesa, or other configured processors.

5. File Uploads

Users may upload avatars, resumes, work samples, attachments, documents, certificates, and project files. These files may be stored and displayed as necessary to provide marketplace, profile, messaging, credential, or contract services.

6. How We Use Information

  • To create, approve, and manage user accounts.
  • To match employers with freelancers and support job transactions.
  • To process payments, refunds, withdrawals, and escrow transactions.
  • To deliver notifications, messages, receipts, and service updates.
  • To prevent fraud, enforce terms, secure accounts, and investigate disputes.
  • To improve user experience, reporting, analytics, and platform reliability.

7. Sharing of Information

We may share limited information with payment processors, hosting providers, email services, analytics tools, fraud prevention services, legal authorities, or service vendors when needed to operate WorkHorse Enterprise, comply with law, protect users, or complete transactions.

8. Payment Providers

When you use Stripe, PayPal, M-Pesa, or another payment method, those providers may collect and process information according to their own policies. WorkHorse stores transaction references and status information but should not store full card numbers or sensitive payment credentials.

9. Cookies and Local Storage

WorkHorse may use cookies, sessions, and browser local storage to keep users logged in, remember theme preferences, protect forms, support security checks, and improve platform usability.

10. Security Measures

We use practical security controls such as prepared database statements, CSRF tokens, password hashing, role-based access, session controls, webhook logging, and output escaping. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to reduce risk and protect user data.

11. Data Retention

We retain data as long as necessary to operate the platform, comply with legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, and maintain business records. Some records, including transaction and escrow records, may be retained longer for audit purposes.

12. Your Choices

  • You may update profile and contact details from your account settings.
  • You may request deletion or correction of certain personal information where applicable.
  • You may unsubscribe from non-essential communications where available.
  • You may manage color/theme preferences through the platform’s theme picker.
